News Release — Boca Raton, Tampa and Miami, FL — November 7, 2017 — The Florida Venture Forum has selected 17 Florida-based or operating companies to present at its 2017 Florida VentureTech Showcase, being held at FAU Tech Runway on November 16, 2017.
In addition to company presentations and other programming, the event will feature $25,000 cash awards provided by Space Florida to two winning companies, for a total of $50,000. Presenters were selected from a pool of over 70 applicants by a committee of active angel and venture investors. Selected companies will present to an audience of investors, other deal professionals and entrepreneurs. The 17 presenting companies are listed below, by region:
Central/East Central Florida
Bomax Hydrogen, LLC., Lake Mary (www.bomax-hydrogen.com), formed in 2014, developed a patented photobiocatalytic systems that uses light activated nanoparticles coupled with bioinorganic molecules to generate 100% clean hydrogen.

Mend, Orlando (www.mendfamily.com), is a healthcare communication and engagement platform. Mend can connect to patients and/or providers anytime, anywhere, and with any device through messaging, video, forms, or other content.
Pheronym, Inc., Gainesville (www.pheronym.com), is an agricultural biotech company that uses pheromones for crop protection. Pheronym specifically uses pheromones of microscopic round worms, called nematodes.
