EVV solution enables efficient, accurate patient care and claims processing at the point of care
DEERFIELD BEACH, FL, November 6, 2017 — Tellus LLC, an innovative provider of mobile technology for the home health and long-term care markets, announced today that its Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) solution has been selected by Community Care Plan (CCP), an entity owned by Broward Health and Memorial Healthcare System in the state of Florida. As a leader in SaaS-based platforms for the health care industry, Tellus’ technology works at the point of care to more effectively manage delivery of patient care, schedule and track remote staff and accurately process claims for personal and home health care services eligible for Medicaid.
Implementation of EVV solutions is on the rise as care organizations rush to comply with the 21st Century CURES Act passed in December 2016. The CURES Act includes, among a variety of health-related concerns, a mandate for providers to implement EVV for Medicaid-funded personal care services by January 2019 and home health services by January 2023. Though the CURES Act is a Federal mandate intended to reduce Medicaid fraud, waste and abuse, each state is left to make their own decisions on implementation of EVV.
Community Care Plan’s decision comes on the heels of the State of Florida Agency for Health Care Administration’s recent selection of Florida-based Tellus’ technology as its EVV provider of home health services.
“Tellus is proud to call Florida home, and we are honored to work with Community Care Plan and our broader community of providers. Our easy-to-use EVV technology makes adoption by managed care organizations and home health agencies simple, quick and painless,” said Brad Levine, CEO of Tellus. “Tellus EVV is fully compliant, and in fact, goes well beyond the 21st Century CURES Act mandate.”
Community Care Plan is the only Provider Service Network participant in Florida’s Medicaid program. The organization was established in 2000 with the intent to provide local access to a high standard of health care and community resources. It is fully accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care as a Health Plan. It currently serves over 100,000 members enrolled in Medicaid, Children’s Medical Services Network and self-insured employee health plans.
“Community Care Plan strives to deliver the highest quality of care and service with the best choice of physicians and a wide range of benefits so our members can get and stay healthy,” said John A. Benz, President and CEO of Community Care Plan. “By implementing Tellus EVV, we make the experience better for our members and easier for our caregivers to stay focused on delivering quality care. Not only that, we know Tellus will be a great partner to work with because they are equally committed to continuous improvement.”
Community Care Plan and Tellus expect to roll out the EVV solution in February 2018.
