AHCA BA Provider Alert: Missing BA Modifier and Resolution Plan

 

Notice Regarding Missing BA Modifier and Resolution Plan

 

Netsmart identified an issue which has impacted some AHCA BA providers between the dates of December 21, 2021 to December 29, 2021. During these dates, some providers who utilize the Netsmart Mobile Caregiver+ EVV solution may see visits in the worklist that are missing the BA modifier for service codes H2012, H2014 and H2019. Netsmart has a plan for resolution to place the BA modifier back on each visit to reduce provider administrative burden.

 

Netsmart Resolution Plan to Add BA Modifiers to Visits In the Worklist
Step 1: Today, December 30 at approximately 3:30pm EDT, Netsmart updated the affected visits in the worklist to add the BA modifier to each impacted visit.
Step 2: Netsmart will reset the affected visits in the worklist to “new” status.
Step 3: The Netsmart system will then “auto rematch” these visits. Providers may also manually rematch these visits.
Step 4: Providers may then release visits as normal.

 

Note For Providers Who Have Already Manually Added the BA Modifier
Some providers have noticed that the BA modifier was missing from their visits and have already manually added the BA modifier back to their visits in the worklist.

 

If you have already completed this step, no additional action is needed.

 

Additional Notes
Please note that this issue is affecting visits in the provider worklist only. No released visits/claims have been affected by the missing BA modifier issue.

 

Also, please note that archived visits will be excluded from this effort.
